At MonPik, we wholeheartedly commit ourselves to the profound mission of empowering education and fostering the future. Our unwavering dedication revolves around revolutionizing the landscape of early childhood education and development. We achieve this by equipping educators and parents with the indispensable knowledge, comprehensive resources, and unwavering support necessary to mold a brighter, more promising future for children.
The two most prolific and revolutionary female physicians and educators of the 20th century are the Hungarian pediatrician Dr. Emmi Pikler (1902-1984) and the Italian pediatrician Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952). By redefining infant and early childhood education and advancing care, education, and practices, Doctors Pikler and Montessori inspired early childhood education in the 20th century and for generations to come.
To carry forward their educational philosophies and their constant pursuit of improvement and advancement, MonPik was born. Elsa Chahin, with her strong Pikler pedagogical background, and Guillaume Vallee, with his solid Montessori practice, first met in Belgium in 2018. Both realized that Dr. Pikler’s and Dr. Montessori’s pedagogies are harmonious and complementary to each other, strengthening and benefiting young children.
This was the beginning of MonPik—an essence that ignited between two educators, Chahin and Vallee, and grew into a mission to share their insights with the education and parent communities, bringing harmony and peace to the hearts of young children. MonPik is the gift Elsa Chahin and Guillaume Vallee wish to offer parents and children worldwide.
Elsa Chahin is an in-demand speaker, writer, teacher, infant-toddler consultant and certified mindfulness meditation teacher. With nearly three decades of experience working with infants, children and youth populations around the globe, she has also served as a keynote speaker and presenter at more than 300 national and international conferences and seminars on the topic of caring for babies with respect.
Included are her numerous appearances – from New Zealand and Panama to Macao and Puerto Rico – at World Forum gatherings, an on-going global exchange of ideas on the delivery of quality services for young children in diverse settings. She has also been featured as an online parenting expert and spokesperson in the areas of early childhood development.
As one of only two certified and accredited Pikler Trainers in North America, Chahin is currently President/CEO of the internationally renowned non-profit corporation, Pikler/Lóczy USA, through which she carries on the mission of Dr. Emmi Pikler: raising healthy, happy children. Working with Anna Tardos, Dr. Pikler’s daughter, Chahin co-authored the seminal 2017 book, In Loving Hands: How the Rights for Young Children Living in Children’s Homes Offer Hope and Happiness in Today’s World. An excerpt of Chahin’s forthcoming book, The Future Is in Our Hands: A Mindful Approach to Raising Children, was published by Exchange Press, and is already receiving praise from the international community of early years professionals.
Continuing her staunch advocacy of early childhood education and development, Chahin is a working group leader for World Forum Foundation™, RIE® Associate, PITC trainer, and certified Lactation Educator. That rare leader who not only brings passion and commitment to her work, Chahin also has a deep knowledge coupled with both insight and generosity.

A skilled translator who has worked with multicultural students, including at-risk, orphaned, abandoned and learning- disabled children, Chahin is a gifted facilitator who brings her consulting and advisory expertise to new mothers and parents.
Continually broadening her own education, Chahin earned executive certificates in transformational nonprofit leadership, and fundraising and grant strategies from Notre Dame University. In addition, the California State Senate recently awarded her a certificate of recognition in honor of National Nanny Recognition Week.

Guillaume was born in Nantes, France, in a family led by the strong presence and educative influence of his dear maternal grandmother, a former kindergarten teacher.
Getting his first education national certificate at the age of 16 in France, he put aside his passion for early childhood education studying politics and management, obtaining a first master’s degree in those disciplines and pushing forward with a second master’s degree in international management. After moving to China in 2002, he quickly reunited with ECE and discovered what Montessori education was through friendship and mutual care with Dr. Marlene Barron, former AMS President; and whom was to become his wife, Jemina V.Vallee. For the past twenty-five years, Guillaume has dedicated his energy and time to helping teachers, families and young children with the harmonious Montessori Education Philosophy as his magic wand, including his two teenage boys.
Guillaume serves on various Educational Association boards, consults for schools around Asia, sharing experience and knowledge benefiting children across the continent.
Guillaume, that his friends and colleagues call either Gui or G, is eager to support teachers and caregivers through the various projects he is involved with and particularly with MonPik in collaboration with Elsa Chahin.
